Herrington Mk. 1 Cannon

Milled solid bronze signal cannon. Muzzle-loading, black powder (or pyrodex). Fires with simple fuse. This is a real cannon, not a replica! It’s not meant for firing projectiles but it will make quite a bang as a signaling device!

Hand-stamp your own cannon at the Annapolis Sailboat Show 2022! Find us in Tent F-11. Purchase your cannon and select “Annapolis Boat Show 2022” as the Pickup Option at checkout and you can stamp it yourself, or watch us do it, at the show!

Kit comes complete with everything you need to carry, store & fire the cannon except the powder, including:

• Cannon

• Winch mount (can be adapted to mount to a railing or deck at a house, or a wooden base)

• Wooden ramrod

• Length of fuse (enough for four charges)

• Rockwool (used for packing)

• 4 canisters for measuring & loading charges

• Custom waxed canvas storage bag

Each cannon is milled, not cast, from solid marine bronze billet and finished by hand at our workshop in Frederick, MD. They’re hand-stamped with our skull & crossbones logo plus the manufacturing year on the top of the barrel, and the unique serial number (“x/150”) on the bottom.

If you’d like your boat name, brand name, or a person’s name stamped onto the top of the barrel, in addition to our standard hand-stamping, please select the “Custom-Stamped” option below (+$100). You will be asked to indicate your custom stamping at checkout.

Due to the nature of the milled, hand-stamped bronze, each cannon is unique and will patina over time at different rates and different colors depending on where you store it and how you use it. Bronze is also a very soft metal, so dings and dents will further ‘wear’ the cannon over time as it is used and handled. None of this affects its operation and only adds to the cannons character!
